OWNER’S MANUAL
HIGHFIELD - UL 340
Because weight does matter, this single deck dinghy has been conceived keeping that motto in mind.
Their light weight make them a real alternative for those who may have chosen a soft bottom tender in the past but would prefer a hard hull for its performance.
Ultralite tenders are roomy and strong, yet light and easy to transport. These little boats can be launched and recovered by a single man and are easy to be transported on a roof rack.
You will be impressed by their obvious quality level. The excellence of the finish only compares the detail of the ergonomics. The simple layout is combined with an uncluttered design and numerous standard accessories complete the picture.
The Ultralite’s are made of 2.5mm thick powder coated marine grade aluminium for the hull and 1100 Dtex fabric for the inflatable tube.
STANDARD EQUIPMENT
- ORCA® Hypalon or Valmex® PPVC tube

OC TENDERS
Hey guys ! Been following on Instagram – that virtual tour looked like fun! We look forward to hearing and seeing more about it. Congrats all around. Exciting times ahead for sure.
France is just about the most expensive country to ship freight wise unfortunately. I have not priced anything to La Grande Motte in a while, can do if you want but it will change again by the time we ship.
Outremer now works with the ASTenders as far as I know. They are in Europe, they give them the margin they require and it can be delivered one at the time at the time that is convenient to Outremer. We cannot compete with this. I would do my homework with their clients to see if they are happy with it though…
A few clients got their Outremer with their Highfield and then collected our tenders elsewhere – mostly in the Caribbean (we have a container there every December). Only catch is that you need to be in St Martin in December – some flexibility in that as some storage can be organized – but its way cheaper than France for sure. Caribbean has a huge market for second hand inflatables… last I heard my client sold his Highfield he bought in Florida somewhere in the Caribbean to patch up time until his OC Tender arrival, than he paid in Florida. There is no supply either. So selling stuff there is no issue. But obviously not an ideal plan but an idea nonetheless.
Wonder why you guys would downsize to a 300? Hey, don’t get me wrong, we love the 300 and is our original size and still our favourite tender all around but just wondering?
I have attached our current pricelist for your information and happy to clarify any questions.
As usual, if you believe we can assist in anything don’t hesitate. We hope to keep you guys as clients but understand circumstances are not financially and logistically on our side. I would be surprised if they accepted to receive a crate on your behalf. As I said, there is zero in for them and no grudges here, they were wonderful to us during our initial relationship – we were and are grateful to them. We are just far and won’t increase our prices to everyone so we can provide a margin to someone else... just not our ethos. Our business model still sits firmly with direct to the client. It may be our downfall but it is where we sit comfortably production wise and knowing we are doing the absolute best by our OCTenders family.
We will keep following your adventures guys and hope to hear from you again!
Warmest Regards,
Karin Carlyon

- In St Martin, it will be tender+accessories+NZD4800 (which covers all the freight and associated costs. Our associate will keep everyone informed of best bay to be and he can deliver the tender directly to your boat.
- NZD4800 is about $3,000 (July 1st 2022)
- I know for a fact that shipment to LGM alone would be around if not more NZD4800 then you have to pay for the crate, handling, insurance. Mostly because it is a door delivery.
- Would you be able to collect the tender from a depot? I am unsure if you are around there to be honest, just trying to find the cheapest way to deliver this to France for you… I can check the closest depot to LGM, may be Marseille? I had a client go there once. I will check regardless.

- St Martin in December 2023 for $3,000
- New Zealand in 202x(?)

AST BEACH 340
AST BEACH 341
Thank you for getting in touch and your interest in the ASTender range. Please find attached the drawings and price lists for the BEACH 340 and its sister model the BEACH 341. The BEACH 340 is the lightest model in that length and very sporty – the entry level for carbon tenders. Whereas the BEACH 341 is only a few kg heavier but comes with many features like a bow locker, transom platform, slimmer deck (more space in the cockpit), molded nonskid on the deck. It is the more luxury model with a very nice seat on the bow locker incl. cushion. Both models can be max. propelled with 15HP and short shaft. Since the bow locker is an extra composite part the BEACH 341 is more expensive.

Hallo
If the boat has osmosis, it’s not from us, leaving the boat in the water, what we never do, not even during daytime at the anchorages. And the discolored areas you see on the picture is not alges, it is dirt from the water that’s normal in some marinas, nothing particular, as we wash the boat frequently. This case is a quality problem.
As you feel free, telling me what you think in this case, I will do the same, as I have owned a few boats and dinghies over the last 51 years. The boat mostly behaves satisfactory in the sea, though I have meet two owners who capsized the boat. When sailing in the smallest of waves, cracking sounds comes from around the construction, especially from where passengers sitting on the deck. Materials for handles, and deck can’t stand the environment, and get damaged much too easy. Fender lists is insufficient for use in marinas and harbours around the world, making the boat vulnerable, and contribute to the overall impression, of the lack of experience AST Tenders posses, when it comes to constructing a dinghy for full time use.
Details about problems with foam, oars, and fenders, you can find it ind previously mail correspondence.
For your information, I have no interest in arguing forth and back, therefore I have already repaired the boat, and accepted that it's the dinghy I have to live with, until I feel it's time to replace it with another brand.
This mail is sent cc to Outremer, as they might be interested in knowing about these problems for the future.
Regards
Hans Andersen

I‘m sorry you are not 100% happy with our products.
Would you please tell me more about your problems you stated below about the oars, handles and the foam? What exactly didn‘t you like and what problems have you faced with it?
Regarding the gelcoat:
To me it looks like you left the boat in the water for a longer period of time. The coloring and alga indicate this quite well.
The gelcoat is polyester based and that for endangered by osmosis. The hull structure is epoxy. Because the gelcoat is very thin, to keep the weight light, osmosis might occur very quickly.
If the boat is left in the water, especially in very warm waters, you need to protect it with an epoxy based barrier coat and antifoul. Or you sand down all the gelcoat and apply antifoul directly to the epoxy laminate. This is the same procedure as for every other plastic boat, no matter if it is gelcoat or painted.
The barrier coat and antifoul should be applied to minimum 100-150mm above the static water line. Because this is the most exposed part to water vapor, same as on your mothership.
To avoid osmosis you need to allow long periods for drying out the gelcoat. Otherwise moisture will accumulate between the gelcoat and epoxy structure. This period should be much longer than the wetted period.
If the gelcoat is damaged by osmosis and starts to crack and peel off the hull, you can only replace it with new gelcoat or sand it down and apply antifoul, depending on your needs and preferences. If you want to have your tender in the water for longer periods, we highly recommend to apply antifoul, either with an epoxy barrier coat or after removing the polyester gelcoat.
Nevertheless the hull structure will not be effected by this, because it is epoxy. I hope this helps you.
Please, keep me informed about your other issues.
Kind regards
Thilo Keller

We are Outremer 45N60, delivered last year (April 2021). With the Outremer, we got a new AST tender delivered. Besides troubles with the handle bars, the foam and the oar sytem (For rowing the boat), we now see the gelcoat / topcoat falling off, leaving the carbonfiber exposed. Port side seems to be ok, but vertical, outboard areas in starboard side and the back are affected.
